Privacy Policy

BaseraNow, operated by Taranveer Singh (sole proprietor), Downtown Langston, Ashok Nagar, Kharadi, Pune ("we"), collects and uses personal data through baseranow.in. This policy is written to meet the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the SPDI Rules, 2011, and to align with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its Rules.

1. What we collect

• Account data: name, phone number, email, Google sign-in profile (via Firebase Authentication), your role (Tenant, Owner or Referrer).
• Listing data: property details, photos, rent and location.
• Usage data: searches, filters, pages viewed, device and browser information, approximate (city-level) location.
• Agreement-stage identity data (only if you proceed to an agreement): PAN, address proof, and a masked Aadhaar copy (only the last 4 digits visible) or another government ID. We do not use Aadhaar for authentication.
• Payment records: amount, date and transaction reference. We do not store card numbers or UPI PINs.
• Communications: messages you send us, and call or WhatsApp records.

2. Why we use it

To create and run your account; show and match listings; coordinate between Owner and Tenant; prepare and register the rental agreement; take and record payments and pay rewards; send service messages; prevent fraud; comply with law; and improve the platform. We use your data only for these purposes.

3. Consent

We process your data on the basis of your consent given when you sign up or submit documents, or where the law permits. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing baseranow26@gmail.com. Withdrawal does not affect earlier processing, and we may need to keep some records by law.

4. Who we share it with

• The other party to your deal: only what is needed to complete it (for example, name and phone number once a flat is selected and confirmed).
• Sub-Registrar and government authorities, where required to register the agreement.
• Service providers acting for us: Google / Firebase (authentication and database), AWS (hosting provider), Razorpay (payment provider), and analytics tools. These may process data on servers outside India.
• Law-enforcement and regulators, when legally required.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. How long we keep it

• Account data: while your account is active; inactive accounts may be deleted after 24 months.
• Identity documents: deleted 90 days after the agreement is registered or the deal is cancelled, unless the law requires longer.
• Receipts and payment records: for the period required by tax and accounting law.

6. Security

We use access controls, encryption in transit and restricted access to identity documents. No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

7. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or erase your data, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance, by emailing baseranow26@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days. You may also nominate someone to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

8. Children

The platform is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect data of anyone under 18.

9. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and local storage for login and, where you consent, analytics (such as Google Analytics). You can control cookies in your browser.
